Side Tables
marble side table
Stone reaching for lightness. The Icaro carries its marble top on legs carved so slender they seem to resist the weight above them — a contradiction held in permanent tension, resolved only by the density of the stone itself.

The Icaro presents a structural paradox — legs that appear too fine to support what rests above them, yet do so entirely without intervention. Carved from a monolithic block, the legs are not joined to the top but continuous with it. The tension you perceive is real; the resolution is in the material itself.

The top of the Icaro is generous relative to its base — deliberately so. It is a surface meant to be used: for a book, a glass, a lamp. The contrast between the expansive, polished top and the almost-absent legs below is not decorative; it is the piece's entire argument. Stone can be both monumental and ethereal, simultaneously.

Shown here in Verde Guatemala. The Icaro is available in a considered selection of natural stones, polished or honed. Because the piece is a single monolithic carving, stone selection directly determines the visual weight of the legs — a dark, heavily veined stone reads very differently from a pale, quiet one. We work with you to match stone to setting.

The Icaro is hewn from a single block — the top and legs are not separate elements joined together, but a continuous form carved away from one piece of marble. The apparent slenderness of the legs is achieved through precision CNC roughing followed by extensive hand finishing. The stone's structural integrity is never compromised; the legs are thicker than they appear because of the way light reads against polished stone.
Yes. While the legs appear fine, they are engineered with sufficient cross-section to support the top and the loads typical of a side table. The piece is not fragile — it is precise. It should not be subjected to lateral impact or dragged across floors, but for daily use in a residential or hospitality setting it is entirely robust.
The top dimensions and height can be adjusted within the constraints of single-block carving. Leg geometry can be subtly modified — slightly stouter or more tapered — but significant changes affect the structural ratios and must be discussed during the commission process. We are always open to bespoke interpretations.
Every Icaro is transported in a custom-built crate designed specifically for the piece. Delivery is white-glove — our specialist handlers place the piece and carry out a final inspection on site. We do not ship the Icaro via standard courier; all logistics are managed directly by Tiba Stone to ensure the piece arrives without risk.
