Marble Compliment

Cono

lathe-turned marble cone

A lathe-turned marble cone — pure geometry realised in stone. The lathe reveals the stone's interior as no other process can: concentric rings of colour, uninterrupted veining, surfaces that taper to an impossible fineness.

The Form

Pure Geometry in Stone

The cone is one of the oldest and most resolved geometric forms — it needs nothing added and nothing taken away. Cono realises this form in marble, turned on a lathe from a single block. The result is a surface that reads differently from every angle and catches light with extraordinary accuracy.

Presence & Weight

An Anchor for Space

Cono pairs well with books, with vessels, with the edge of a shelf. It does not compete — it anchors. The base is wide enough to hold the eye and the apex is fine enough to feel like a question mark held in stone.

The cone is complete. It does not require context, a pedestal, or explanation. It is a resolved form in an unresolved world — and that is precisely its value.

Yes. The Cono is well suited to bookend use in pairs — ordered together, we select blocks from the same batch to ensure tonal consistency. The polished surface will not scratch books or shelves when placed carefully.

The Cono works on any flat surface — a desk, a shelf, a mantelpiece, or a dining table as a table centre. The base is finished flat and will not mark wood or stone surfaces. A felt pad is supplied for use on delicate surfaces.

Yes. The proportions of the Cono can be adjusted — a taller, more slender version is dramatic; a shorter, wider version feels more monumental. Inquire with your preferred dimensions and we will advise on what the lathe can produce.

Each Cono is individually wrapped in archival tissue and packed in a bespoke wooden crate. Worldwide delivery is available through our certified handling partners.
