Marble Vessel

Doge Small

bespoke marble vase

A compact marble vessel, lathe-turned to a precise geometry that sits between sculpture and use. Dense in the hand, quiet on a surface — the Doge Small occupies its corner of a room with the unhurried authority of something permanent.

A Volume in Stone

The Doge family begins with the question of containment — how much can stone hold, and at what scale does weight become elegance? The Small answers with restraint: wide enough to hold a single stem, narrow enough to recede into the periphery of a room, and yet always found. Its profile is lathe-turned, a process that reveals the concentricity of marble's formation — each ring of veining a geological record, now exposed as ornament.

Presence Without Scale

The paradox of the Doge Small is that it carries a room without dominating it. Marble at this scale is dense in the hand, heavy on a surface, and entirely quiet in its presence — it reads differently from ceramic or glass. Light catches the polished body and holds briefly, then moves on. The veining, compressed into a smaller field, becomes more vivid. More immediate.

Stone & Surface

The Doge Small is offered in stones selected for how their veining behaves at intimate scale. Bianco Carrara's subtle grey networks read delicately across the curved body. Calacatta Gold introduces warmth and drama — its bold veins wrap the form unexpectedly. Verde Guatemala turns the piece entirely nocturnal: a deep forest tone that absorbs the room. Each stone transforms the same geometry into something altogether different.

Yes, with care. The interior recess is honed and sealed to accept a glass liner or small amount of water. For fresh stems, we recommend using a glass insert to avoid prolonged contact between water and the stone surface. The Doge Small is designed first as a sculptural object, and second as a vessel — either use is appropriate.

The interior recess is honed to a matte finish and treated with a penetrating stone sealer as standard. The contrast between the polished exterior and honed interior is intentional — the change in surface registers as you look down into the piece. A fully polished interior is available on request and changes the character of the form considerably.

Yes. The Doge Tall shares the same lathe-turned profile and stone selections, scaled to a floor or console presence. The two pieces are designed to coexist — the Small and Tall read as a family when placed together, the veining of each stone creating a quiet conversation between heights. Both are available to commission.

Each piece is packed in a custom felt-lined box and shipped via our specialist handling partners. Delivery includes a care card and stone maintenance guide. Unlike our larger furniture pieces, the Doge Small can be sent via premium courier to most destinations — international shipping is available.
