Samaveta

convergent marble sculpture

Samaveta is the meeting. Two forms that arrive from different directions, rest together, and in doing so become something neither could be alone. Marble as convergence — resolved, harmonious, complete.

The Object

Where Two Forms
Arrive as One

Samaveta begins with duality — two tendencies in marble, two impulses of form, brought deliberately into proximity. The work is in the resolution: how the joint is handled, where the weight settles, what the arrangement implies about the forms themselves.

Form & Resolution

Stillness From
Convergence

The name is Sanskrit — it means assembled, gathered, made harmonious. Samaveta does not attempt to describe this. It simply demonstrates it: two forms, one surface, complete. The convergence is the object's entire argument, made once and held permanently in stone.

Stone & Surface

In Verde Guatemala, the convergence reads as light and ceremonial. In Rosso Levanto, it becomes weighted and contemplative. The stone shifts the mood of the meeting without changing what is being resolved. Each selection is a different version of the same conversation.

Some meetings matter. Samaveta asks that one of them be made permanent — held in marble, placed quietly in a room that benefits from the reminder.

It is a Sanskrit word meaning assembled, gathered, or harmoniously joined. The form reflects that etymology — two elements brought into resolved proximity, held permanently in a single piece of marble.

Samaveta is carved from a single block. What appears as two forms is one continuous piece of marble — the division is implied by the carving, not structural. The integrity of the stone is uncompromised.

Yes. All six stones in the Tiba Stone palette are available. Each changes the mood and weight of the convergence considerably. We recommend discussing your space before deciding — the choice matters more here than with most objects.

As with all natural stone: avoid acidic substances, use a dry or lightly damp cloth. The honed finish is sealed; polished finish available on request. The object is robust — it needs only occasional attention.
