Marble Compliment

Cono

bespoke marble object

A lathe-turned marble cone — pure geometry realised in stone. Dense in the hand, resolved in form, the Cono anchors any surface with the quiet authority of something geological. It exists between sculpture and object, asking nothing, offering everything.

The Form

Pure Geometry in Stone

The cone is perhaps the oldest geometric resolution — a volume that converges toward inevitability. In marble, this elemental form takes on geological depth. The lathe-turning reveals the concentricity of the stone's formation: each ring of veining wraps the body of the Cono, tightening as it ascends toward the apex. What begins as geology becomes ornament, and what begins as ornament becomes something closer to architecture.

An Anchor for Space

Every considered interior requires objects that simply hold their ground — that rest on a surface, create a moment, and ask nothing further. The Cono is that object. On a console, a shelf, or a desk, it introduces the weight and permanence of stone without demanding a particular context. At close range, the veining is intimate and intricate. Across the room, the form reads as pure silhouette — a dark or pale cone that the eye returns to.

Stone & Surface

The Cono is offered in stones selected for how their veining behaves as it wraps a conical form. On Bianco Carrara, the grey networks trace the circumference quietly, almost delicately. Calacatta Gold introduces warmth — its bold veins follow the turn dramatically, creating a different object entirely depending on the angle. Verde Guatemala takes the piece into darkness: a deep forest tone that absorbs light and reads almost as shadow. Each stone transforms the same geometry into something distinct.

Yes. At approximately 3 kg, the Cono has a natural weight that makes it well-suited as a bookend or as a considered counterweight on a shelf or desk. The base is finished flat and stable. It is designed first as a sculptural object, but any secondary functional role is entirely appropriate — marble has always served both purposes simultaneously.

The Cono works on any flat, considered surface — a console table, a bookshelved shelf, a low coffee table, or a desktop. Its scale is deliberately intimate: large enough to register from across a room, small enough to be discovered at close range. It pairs naturally with books, other stone objects, and objects in wood, bronze, or ceramic. It does not require a specific interior — it adapts to the room around it.

Custom sizing is available on request. The standard Cono is proportioned for tabletop and shelf use, but the geometry translates well to both smaller and larger scales — a floor-standing Cono, for instance, becomes a different kind of object entirely. Discuss your requirements during the inquiry process and our atelier will advise on what is possible in your chosen stone.

Each Cono is packed in a custom felt-lined box and shipped via our specialist handling partners. Delivery includes a care card and stone maintenance guide. The Cono can be sent via premium courier to most international destinations — contact us during the inquiry process to confirm delivery options for your location and discuss lead times for your chosen stone.
